Yes… the burbs can be an issue.

We have learned over years to communicate what cannot be said openly through body language, gestures and the eyes. If you do something without thinking, I can warn you with a glance that you need to behave and suddenly you realize what you are doing. To anyone watching it just appears like normal communication between a couple, but you know that you have been given a warning of the punishment to come. Similarly I can quickly tell you that you will be used when we get home, or that you should touch yourself right away while we are in an empty aisle in Wal-Mart, all with just a few words that would not suffice for others.

But when we see Betty, I do not have that communication with her yet. Seeing her at work, I have wanted to silently tell her to behave as we left, but could not do so with the words her co-workers and customers would hear. When we are all in a public place together, we must never appear as more than a couple with a friend along.

We will all have to develop that level of communication for when we are in public areas, but there will still be limits in the burbs. We cannot be seen as a threesome in a town where someone we know might see us. Neither of us can risk a quick slap of her ass or kissing her when others are around. She cannot really show anything that others might interpret as more than friendship towards either of us. And unless we have private moments where no one can hear, I cannot do much to make you both start anticipating what is to come when we get home. Maybe at least that last will improve as we develop codes and gestures we all understand.

We’ll be able to be a lot more open when we are in the city, but that will not be often
